If you have been keeping up with the latest news and current events, you know about the COVID-19 outbreak that has been sweeping the globe and causing an untold amount of damage in its path. At The Rosenblum Allen Law Firm, we have heard countless stories of how the virus has impacted the daily lives of people from all walks of life. Most people thought they would never see such a destructive event in their lifetimes.

Although nobody thought this outbreak would happen to them, we are all struggling to survive and make the most of the situation. We would like to share some of our observations about the COVID-19 outbreak and how it impacts the world.

Health Impact

The most common impacts of COVID-19 are the ones seen in your health. When people get infected and develop symptoms of COVID-19, they are likely to experience a dry cough and fever. Those with COVID-19 can also have body aches, nasal congestion, and a runny nose in addition to a sore throat and diarrhea.

If you get sick with COVID-19, it takes an average of six days for the first symptoms to appear. Some people will not notice the early signs until two weeks after their infection began. Severe cases of the virus can cause respiratory failure and a range of other harmful conditions you cannot afford to overlook.

Social Impact

While the most noticeable impact of COVID-19 is the way it affects people’s health, the viral outbreak also impacts many other areas of daily life. COVID-19 spreads by close contact with infected individuals, so many states have implemented social distancing guidelines that the public must follow. States follow different versions of the social distancing guidelines.

The most common regulation is that people must maintain a certain distance from each other while in public. Most states have closed the dining areas of restaurants and other places where people gather. COVID-19 makes it challenging to stay in touch with friends and family, but it also makes it hard to meet new people. Regulations around the outbreak make people feel isolated and alone.

Financial Impact

Since most businesses have reduced hours, a lot of people have lost their jobs along the way. People who once had their financial lives under control are now seeking unemployment benefits, and others are at risk of losing their cars and homes. Many lenders, though, have offered to overlook late and missed payments for the duration of the outbreak.

Business Impact

Many businesses have closed their doors until the COVID-19 outbreak fades away. Many of them have not been able to attract new clients or keep up with their sales. Large businesses can survive extended periods without operating, but smaller companies might not ever open their doors again.

Small-business owners sometimes must use funds from their businesses to pay personal expenses, such as food, rent, and car loans. Companies that remain operational are often forced to cut employee hours, and many of those employees seek jobs at other establishments as a result. Many businesses will be short-staffed by the time they open their doors to the public again.

Psychological Impact

The COVID-19 outbreak is having a psychological impact on the world. Many people fear that they will catch the virus and take a variety of steps to prevent that from happening. While some people take reasonable steps to protect themselves, others hoard sanitizing products and food because they are worried that the stores will run out.

Social distancing orders are preventing people from staying in touch as much as they did before. Losing touch with social connections makes some people question their identity and place in the world. Those who get COVID-19 or know someone who does can sink into anxiety and depression if they do not take steps to prevent that problem, and many of them do not know-how.
